10 Talents Consulting was established in September 2006 but was conceived of 28 years earlier when the founder was assigned the task of preparing a strategic plan for a Coast Guard Admiral. Since that time Tim had numerous opportunities leading organizations, planning, prioritizing and managing resources to accomplish tangible outcomes.
About the name
In ancient times, a talent was both a measure of money and a coin of high value. A single gold talent as a measure of money weighed about 75 pounds and was worth an estimated $1 million in today's world.
10 Talents consulting takes its name from a story told by Jesus Christ in the New Testament about a business owner and 3 senior subordinates. Each subordinate was given a different amount of funds (talents) to create a return on investment. The one given 5 talents courageously and wisely invested and doubled the original amount. Consequently this one was highly esteemed and rewarded when the owner returned.
10 Talents Consulting was designed to come along side individuals and organizations who demonstrate the desire, courage and commitment to steward their resources in similar fashion. This requires hard work; gathering, processing and integrating facts and information; and taking appropriate risks to break free of status quo thinking and practices.
